Summer tournaments haven’t always been the most successful of events for the Hassocks U12 Hawks having previously made it to four finals and losing all of them however this year it seems that team, who recently won the HDYFL Div B title, have found a wining formula.

Victory at Ringmer made it two wins from two tournaments for the Hassocks U12 Hawks

A victory on penalties in the final of the Ringmer tournament made it two wins from two events after previously winning the Seaford Tournament in May, the first tournament win in the teams history.

‘Champions of Seaford’ The first tournament victory for the The Hawks

“These victories are no less than this team deserves”, said Team Manager Nick Palmer. “This has been the most successful season in our 6 year history so the timing is of no surprise to me”.

The 2018/19 season has been a very successful one for The Hawks after winning the Div B league title in the Horsham & District Youth Football League and making it to the last 8 teams in the Sussex County Cup.

And next season promises to be just as exciting after promotion to the top division will see them competing with some of the best teams in Sussex & Surrey at the 11 v 11 format.

“We’re really excited about the prospect of competing with the top teams next season and the 11 v 11 format really plays to our style of possession football and the fact that we have so much strength in depth in the squad now”.

The Hawks still have one more tournament left to play which will be Cowfold at the end of the month.
