#MeToo – Hassocks Juniors Ladies Launch…!

with No Comments
Late in 2018 Hassocks Juniors F.C. fulfilled a long term ambition and launched a girls team, at the under 10 / 11 age group.
The team finally came together after the hard work of Christian and Naomi Demaine-Stone, whose football mad daughter plays for the Under 10s. They pulled together a number of their daughters’ friends and worked with the school to drum up interest – and finally launched with a training session with 14 girls turning up to participate.
It went so well that 2 other sessions were organised, and a regular slot on a Saturday afternoon is in the offing. Investigations into friendlies, leagues and summer tournaments are underway with the aspiration to get this side established so we can build at other age groups and have girls football as “business as usual” for HJFC.
Club Chairman Jason Roberts said – “This is just brilliant work by Christian and Naomi – this has been talked about for years, but these guys took the bull by the horns and just got on with it – myself and the committee could not be happier. It’s now our job to make sure we support them in whatever way we can so they can get things going!”
